My First Prime Lens
After debating, and reading reviews, and readjusting my budget to find a little bit here and there… I got my first prime lens, a little nifty fifty as they call it, a Canon 50mm f1.8.
These pictures were taken in the city right after I bought it, I am so surprised at the quality of the pictures in low light, not that I’ve had much experience, but I know what my stock 18-55mm lens can do in low light, which is not much.
I am also on flickr

Congratulations! Great low light pictures. The flikr caption for the last one here is priceless. One lucky child!
Do we get to guess at what the second photo is of? (or does the awkward phrasing of that question preclude any fun guessing?)
Looking forward to more pics!

Prime lenses are the way to go.
I always keep a prime lens and a half fish on my cameras whereever I go.
A prime lens on the d3 is simply amazing check this entry out

You are too kind my friend, I do not think I’m young enough for a career change, a long term hobby, yes, but u never know, I might win the award for being “not so bad”

Thanks Chiara, which second photo? remember we are in the southern hemisphere, the order gets jumbled once it gets to the northern hemisphere.

Why the second photo above of course, counting Southern Hemisphere style, and spinning counterclockwise while adjusting for Northern Lights! LOL
