Blog: MBN
In what I would call a series of fortunate events, I stumbled upon this blog which has some amazing photographs of events in Jeddah and around it, and some amazing shots of places around the world.
The blog is owned by Michael Bou-Nacklie, currently the Editorial Director of Destination Jeddah / Fainak. However, he is leaving Saudi very soon. According to his words, his blog is ”geared toward showing Saudi Arabia as it is, free of politics and biases. Whether this has succeeded is up to you, the viewer.” I think it does
I wish I knew about his blog before going to Jeddah, I would’ve loved to meet him, I left him a comment on his blog and sent him an email and he was kind enough to leave two (1,2) comments on mine and kindly responded to my email.
Thanks Michael, and best of luck.

Fabulous sites thanks. MBN’s use of black and white photography for the Mexican Day of the Dead makes the photos even more impressive.
Nice on Saudi and Syria too!
If Saudi does open to foreign tourism those flamingoes on the beach scenes will be a great marketing tool! Best not to compete with Kenya (as per NidalM’s Photography) or Cuba (as per postcards) on that account though.

Thanks for your comment Chiara, but I cannot take any credit for his blog, I was just happy to let others know of it

I’ve met Michael a couple of times before in Jeddah while covering some of the comedy events. My first words to him were “You don’t look like a Michael”, referring of course to his Arab heritage ;P
