“Homosexual” Police Impostor
Most people have now seen the video or read the news of the guy dressed in an officer’s uniform and acting “homosexual” whatever that may be.
Now I am not a gay rights advocate, but I see no basis for charging him with a criminal offence, yes he acted stupid in front of the camera, many people do, and he did his best impersonation of a woman (which was not good at all) well, compared to Wesley Snipes or the late Patrick Swaze (To Woong Foo) … that is my opinion… So anyway.
The same day and in the same list of emails I got from a friend, I also saw a video (here it is) of a couple of Saudi guys, up on a stage (somewhere in the world), showering the dancer with money, their faces are clear enough (i.e. they could be identified), and the way the kept throwing money like that should be (and it is) a criminal offence, they even had the dancer callout the names of their tribes… Lovely ain’t it…
But of course… It is all a matter of perception.
P.S. I think the guy in question is mentally challenged and a disgrace to gays around the world… out of all the uniforms that a man can look good wearing, the Saudi police uniform does not even measure up to the worst.
What I want to say here… if they are arresting people for what they do on YouTube, they should not stop on those that they want, or do not conform to their standards, but go on a spree and arrest those that do everything illegal… good luck with that.

Was too embarassed to watch the video, though curious: Why is being gay an issue and (illegal) arms posession was not? don’t you know how dangerous it is dancing with a gun? *confoundedlystaggered
Mar 13, 2010 @ 11:53:16
I am confoundedlystaggered also, but never thought u would be too embarrassed to watch a vid, and that makes me double confoundedlystaggered

I said on another blog that he almost forced the police to arrest him, because the video caused such a sensation internationally, and the world is so ready to believe anything they seemed to believe he was an actual Saudi police officer. That probably wasn’t his intent though.
To me, he was just being seductive homosexual style though crudely, not imitating a woman so much. For men in drag, it is hard to beat RuPaul.
He is mentally unstable if he thought being out of the closet in Saudi was a good thing. Apparently he was arrested before for homosexual behaviours and freed on bail, with there being no public reprisal against him or even publicization of it.
One of the dangers for GLBTQ living in the West for studies is that they get indoctrinated about outing themselves to everyone, with a lot of peer pressure to do so, and they often forget the consequences of doing so in their own countries, including to their own families. I spend time deprogramming some who come for therapy for something else.
That is not his case, but he seemed to think that he could get away with such provocative behaviour. Sad.

Yes, I agree with you. And RuPaul, I thought was a woman for a while.. I really did.
Thanks for your comment, it has been 2nd’d and 3rd’d

Imagine all those drift videos and the Saudi “skaters”, all of which might (mostly not) be going under scrutiny.
btw, Is that real money? that video only has about 35 views. So hopefully, they will see it soon
Mar 13, 2010 @ 11:58:31
I am not sure what currency that was, and yes, those the skaters need to be included… Thanks

I have something to say regarding the second video~
Where in the world you see a guy having money placed on a large table, only to be thrown on the dancer? He’s even got a guy to hand him the money!
This will only help reinforce the idea that Saudis got too much money they don’t know what to do with it >_>
The lesson learned here: Do whatever you want, but not in Saudi Arabia, because we have, you know, our privacy…
Mar 13, 2010 @ 12:01:30
I am not sure, but this is why there is a saying made famous by Adel Imam “go ahead and work as a dancer”
And yes, our privacy… whatever that means, is the cause of many of our problems.
Thanks

I do not disagree with you, in terms of the concept ‘equality’. However, your argument is flawy, in my opinion. Can a government official -policeman- act as a homosexual for jokes? – In a country that implies Islamic sharia and strictly prohibits such a thing. It might be simple for you to digest a joke, but this advocates homosexuality – if the government did not take action.
What your saying is, lets say someone would film himself calling a coloured man a ni*** (US), or denying the holocaust (Europe), and then assert: “I see no basis for charging him with a criminal offence, yes he acted stupid in front of the camera”
Thank you for your care and inshaAllah khier.
Mar 13, 2010 @ 12:15:13
MAwlia, Thanks for the comment.
People do film themselves and have organizations in the US calling black people niggers, they even threatened Obama when he won… they are called white supremacist, and there are organizations in Europe that deny the holocaust and are still as racist as ever, they are not right… there are even those that piss and burn holy books, you can find them on youtube.
Internet governance is a complicated subject, Yahoo France for example, a search engine, was sued for allowing people to find nazi material and memorabilia since it is illegal to buy and sell it in France, where u can buy and sell it in other places.
What I was getting at, if we are charging people based on youtube videos, then we should not stop. Let us start with the actual police officer who was writing citations for people and filling his book without actually stopping people, I am sure you’ve seen the vid
They should not be limited by sexual acts only (Barjis, the guys who herrased the girls in Riyadh walkway… that guy Haitham or something a couple of years ago, Mazin AbdulJawad… etc)
Thanks again for your comment

Ahlain,
You could’ve not said it any better. I was pleasantly surprised to read about such an open minded view coming from a Saudi guy.
