Saudi Arabia The Change Process
Here is an interesting interview which I saw on susristube.
I think Prince Turki AlFaisal reads my blog
LOL, some of the ideas, thoughts and conclusions sound similar to mine… of course, sitting high up and doing what you want to do while not being in the eye of the change process, and being caught in the middle of it… are two different experiences.

The movie looks interesting… although I must say, I’m sure there are some skilled PR experts behind it =)
In regards to modernising without Westernising, he’s right, it is difficult. The boundaries between the two are blurry in the time that we live in. Sometimes I think one has to be Westernised to realise the true value of culture and tradition. Plus, future leaders of Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and Malaysia are usually educated overseas. One way or another, their newly acquired ways and knowledge will have an impact on their country.
Then there is the question of culture vs. religion which people get mixed up with. The idea and practice of national identity is tricky!

Shahirah, thanks for the comment. Yes, I agree there must be some serious PR going on. There is always a factor of getting some of the habits of the more modern world, that also happened when Europe was in the dark ages, they did get some social influence from the Muslim world which still goes on to this day.
Thanks again

Great video!
I think the Prince reads my comments
. I have heard him interviewed at length before, and he is very impressive. I find him sincere, and based on his own position, background, experience, and age, credible.
Riz Khan is an excellent interviewer, and often has very interesting guests.
Thanks for sharing this with us!

Welcome, and thank you for your discrete disagreement. LOL
My bad, and my sincere apologies–wrong prince, and wrong brother. Though no doubt there is PR and diplomacy involved, I was thinking of Prince Saud Al-Faisal–interviewed by Charlie Rose, and for a documentary on Saudi.
