Saudi Succession

The issue of Saudi succession has popped up on different news sites, after the sudden blood clot King Abdullah has suffered from. I am glad he is doing well now, and as reported, is on his way to full recovery.

No one wants to think of the issue of succession, one, because the King, is considered by most as a father figure, and no one wants to think of the passing away of a parent. Two, because most people have no hand in that.

Most people wish King Abdullah health and a long life, the country has seen reforms, that I wish will continue, and I also wish that he gets to see his projects come true, a man who asked his driver to stop the car after his disappointment at the progress of building KAUST and prayed long, way longer that usual, after seeing how slow the progress was on building the infrastructure on a state of the art university, is a man of vision, who understands the importance of planting seeds that will hatch long after he is gone, and that, if you ask anyone in any business school, is a sign of a good leader who does not only focus on short-term goals to look good in quarterly and yearly reviews, but a leader who understands the importance of building for future generations, it is no wonder he is loved by many.
